Anaiyah (formerly Shanika) Robinson
FOUNDER AND CEO OF GIRLS BUILDING BUSINESSES (GBB)
At the age of 7, Shanika began cleaning and re-selling golf balls that fell into her yard from the course by her home. Although she did not realize it back then, she loved the idea of entrepreneurship.
Girls Building Businesses was created to help Shanika pursue her vision of spreading the idea of entreprenuership to young girls. Her volunteer and work experience include:
-
170+ hours spent in Kenya working with and empowering female entrepreneurs
-
300+ hours spent mentoring young girls about the positives of owning a business
-
Working within her family’s business 10+ years
-
Opening two businesses of her own while studying at UGA
-
40+ hours spent in Guatemala and China volunteering at elementary and primary schools to rebuild infrastructure and teach children
-
Giving motivational speeches at summer camps and elementary schools
The main goal of her camp is to educate, empower and encourage young girls to become successful businesses owners while becoming more confident in themselves.
